Living Beyond the Letter of the Law | Pele Yoetz | Hachzek Day 75
Alright, ever today is Sunday. I hope you had a beautiful Shabbos. Today is day 75 in our Pelioids journey. If you're joining us brand new, all good. We begin a new topic today, the topic of Chasidus, piety. An approach to piety in Yidushkei, let's jump right in. Person should do whatever he could do to get into that category of conducting oneself with great piety. Just as we know, regarding money or any material possession for that matter, somebody who loves money, he was never going to be fully satiated. He always wants more. He doesn't become satisfied with what he has because he always wants more. He's not going to attain even half of his desires. The same should apply when it comes to bringing pleasure to his creator. You should never be satisfied with the level that he's at. You should always want to increase more and more and more. So with this, a person who has the ability to fulfill the idea of chasidos. Hasidos doesn't in this regard mean like what we would call Hasidos, right? Like learning the teachings of Rabbi Shaw Baal Hashem, right? Or Rabbi Nahmad or what have you. Um although it's related, but here we're talking about living with piety, like going beyond. Umro, when a person holds himself back, and a person says, you know, it's enough for me to do what I'm obligated to do, and that's it. Somebody who says that, he's classified as a person who's just concerned with himself. He's not concerned with the honor of a kurish barhu. You know, maybe it would be better for him to not have been born. Because the fact that now he has a chance to honor God. He's able to bring pleasure to a kurish baru by living with piety, by going a little beyond. By going shurstadin, but he doesn't do so. That shows that he's not concerning himself with the honor of his master, and that's a terrible thing. But there's another relevant idea here, the measure that a person, person conducts himself, that's how um he's going to be paid from heaven. When a person lives beyond the letter of the law, then Qurish Baruch also goes even further beyond the letter of the law. That's what it means to live with Chasidah.
