Be Kind to YOURSELF | Pele Yoetz | Hachzek Day 71

SPEAKER_00

Hey Khevra, welcome back. Day 71, Pelioitz. We continue the topic of Chesed. Let's jump right in. One of the primary aspects of doing kindness for another is doing kindness for his soul. Vijdadal Zakosalamodo, right? Person should apply effort to purify and to teach another s another yid, another soul, to guide him on the proper path of Shri Gilek, Yochenu, Alkonov, and even to rebuke him at times. And that requires a certain level of friendship and closeness to be able to get to that level where you could actually rebuke the gut, rebuke the person enough that he will actually listen. Right? And to move the guy away from the places that he shouldn't be at, from a path of life that that's that's counterintuitive for a life of greatness. This is a tremendous khesed when you care for the soul of another yid. A person right included in this type of chesed is to do khesed in the realm of spirituality, to help another yid in his spiritual endeavors. Even after the person dies, to davin in his behalf, you're doing a chesed to him. It's true, you can't do this for every single yid, it's impossible. But once in a while you could say a prayer, tefilah kuilala sal called Napsal, a general tefila for all of the departed souls from Claudia, and then you could give tzadak on their behalf. Person should do whatever he can to help raise the youth of the Jewish nation, right? In the that they should be in raised in the ways of the Tyraraki, Matilanas Avi Avian Medina Shal Gehenam, because then you're saving them from Gehanim. You're saving their fathers from Gehan. Is there any greater kindness than this? When a person studies the words of chazali, right? When you learn the safer of somebody who's passed on, realize you're doing a chesed because now you're doing chesed to that person because now his lips are moving in his grave. A person should do a kind of uh kindness um to his own family, to his parents, right? To his children, his relatives, a karva karv kainim. The closer they are to you, the more you should do it. They take precedence, like it says, right? The the poor in your city come first and your family comes first, in terms of taddakab, in terms of in that it's a general claw in terms of doing khesed for your family members first. Umi saricha altasalan. Don't hide yourself from your own kin. Says the palayoids here, something so fundamentally important. We've been talking about doing chesed to others and hosting and doing chesed for people after they die. What about yourself? Says the Peleyoids. We have an obligation upon each and every one of us. We have an obligation to do kindness with ourselves. Ukimosh Amru, Al Hilla Zakin Shekhesh Shekh, right? When Hilla would go and partake of food, he would say, I am preparing to do kindness with my host, meaning to my nishama. Your life takes presence. Realizing that that kindness is putting grace upon us. Everything that we do can become a chesed. Certainly, uh, when it comes to the mitzvos of the ta'hitain, el rucha, vihaban liba lokah, a person should contemplate this and live with intentionality. That he should do kindness for himself. Every time he does a mitzvah, he's doing a kindness to himself. Certainly, a karushbar will grant him reward for this kindness that he's doing to himself. Even the smallest benefit that a person provides to another, that's that you're doing a kindness with him. And the same is true when a person does kindness to his own self, to his soul, he's get gets tremendous reward. Let's be kind to others and let's also be kind to ourselves. Wishing you all the best. Have a wonderful day.
